I've always been quite interested in finding out what match day culture is like in other countries, and being a fat bas*ard keen on food, I'm intrigued to know what snacks are eaten at matches across the globe.

Has anyone got experience in seeing what is common or have a link to a website that will show me examples?

Could imagine a club like PSG selling a fair bit of generic food. Burgers, hot dogs etc.

I've been to a few FC Augsburg games in Germany, the beer and hot dogs were good!

I was at the San Siro a few weeks ago and they have guys walking round selling crisps, chocolate, pop corn etc.

Anyone remember the horrible sausage shit they sold in Spartas stadium? That and alcohol free beer I only realised was alcohol free a couple of years later.

Not proper football, but will be heading to a NFL game later. Normal pre-game ritual is thousands of people standing in giant car parks, drinking beer, watching games on TVs with satellite dishes positioned on the back of trucks and eating food cooked on BBQ grills as large as the average UK car.

In the stadium you get all sorts- burgers, BBQ brisket, fried chicken, pizza, salads, tacos etc.. And lots of beer.

They sold paper plates with a sausage, a slice of bread and a bit splodge of mustard at Sparta Prague.
Big sandwiches with ham, cheese or omlette in Milan.
Burgers and Hotdogs at J-League games in Japan mostly although they put Teriyaki sauce on them. :yucky:
Hot Dogs and pizza slices at the MLS games I've been to in the States.
Hot dogs / frankfurters at the Nou Camp. They only sell non alcohol beer though. Wasted about 20 Euros each until we figured that out.
Serrano ham sandwiches at the Bernabeu. They also had salami or potato omlette sandwiches.
Various pastry / pasty things at the Estadio da Luz.
Various sausagey type things at the Olympic Stadium, Berlin.
Ham or salami sanwiches at Napoli.

That's the ones i've been to.

Germany is great for food and drink at matches imo. Bratwurst and Gluhwein in winter is the real deal.

Been to a few matches in Cyprus and got an intentionally cold burger roll and some strange biscuit thing. :ninja:

    Food irrelevant.
Having seen professional football in 13 countries, I'm still peed off that Scotland is the only country that you can't buy beer !
The 1981 Old Firm riot that led to the alcohol ban was whisky fuelled, not beer.
    Geez a pint !
    Good riot though;

Been in plenty stadiums that don't allow alcohol, it's not just Scotland.
Anyway, Scottish people can't be trusted to behave with alcohol at football matches. We all know it and it's not likely to change. Some of the neds / scumbags would kick off and spoil it for everyone.

There's some horrible frozen pastry things the army give out in their lunch bags. Some posters who've been away with the army/TA/cadets/etc will know what I'm on about.

I nearly cried when I paid for three pies at Millwall and these things appeared in front of me again.

Remember eating a chicken in prague it looked great (full of beer) but tasted rancid dripping in grease.
Also was at the bernabeu and the two guys sitting directly behind sat the whole match eating some sort of large seeds out of a huge bag and disguarding shells(a lot of the time over my shoulder) everywhere about them. Very strange.

At the Chicago Cubs baseball games they are into monkey nuts in a big way. They sell them inside and outside the stadium. Also inside its the usual hot dogs and popcorn and shed loads of beer. You even get ice-cream in a baseball helmet. It's a litre's worth.

No wonder there are so many fat gits in the US.

At my first game in Spain, Valladolid v Penforradina, a group of guys behind me spent the entire game eating sunflower seeds. At the end of the game there was a pile of shells the length of the row and about an inch deep.

But the tradition is to take a baguette for half time.
